Hello.
The West field (next to the cow field) is almost completely harvested. Can we complete the harvest of this field by Wednesday PM - including clearing out stakes and other materials.
The University farm would like to put the cows in this field for a few days to clear-out the grass.
Thanks.
Looks like it's too muddy today for potato digging or garlic planting. We'll try for later this week.
Everyone is needed for potato digging and garlic planting this Saturday, October 13, starting about 10:00 a.m. and going until we're done.
If you have spoken to friends about joining next year, please invite them so they can contribute to the garlic they will be enjoying next year.
As you know, these are big jobs and it could be muddy. So remember to gear up and pack a lunch.
See you all Saturday.
Vicky

I know there is comfort, where we overlap.” - Ani Defranco
This was the vibe i was feeling during our harvest celebration, such a feeling of community, and family, giving, sharing, and receiving. We ate, we drank, we laughed, .......a lot, shared some stories, shared some facts, held our AGM and voted in new board members , presented Dyle with style, cleaned up, took down the lights and wished everyone a good night.
Thank you everyone for coming, it was a most enjoyable evening, even as we huddled together for warmth : D
P.S. More photos will be posted tomorrow....

Hi Everyone,
I am pretty much a newbie at gardenning, but I came accross this you tube how-to on raspberry pruning and thought I would try pruning the EOGG raspberry bushes this Wednesday evenning.
If anyone who has done this before wants to shoot me some advice, or to lend a hand, let me know. Also does anyone know if the raspberries we grow are ever bearing or summer variety? I suspect sunmmer variety...

Harvest Dinner this Saturday
Hey I am getting very excited for the Harvest Dinner, the weather will be warm, I will bring a jacket for the evening, and i am looking forward to all the yummy food we are sharing. I have gotten many e-mails in the last couple of weeks and so to answer any questions i made a list of who is bringing what thus far, and those who have not responded, have a look at the list and perhaps be inspired : )
We would like if everyone could bring something home made to this dinner with the exception of our guests, perhaps something miraculous with veggies from the garden, salads, vegetarian dishes, desserts, and of course wine and beer are welcome, as well, to share. We will have glasses, plates, and cutlery provided for the event as well as sausages, chicken, and fruit juices. This is a great opportunity for everyone to meet those they have not met, meet their families, and get to know one another. I would ask everyone to please RSVP and I would like to take advantage of this large gathering to host an AGM meeting as well. This will give everyone an opportunity to share some of their thoughts, experiences, and ideas based on this years season and previous seasons. We would also like to discuss next years direction and focus for EOGG and would welcome as much input as possible

Would anyone be interested in doing a Canning Bee, and would anyone know of someone who would like to lead it. Christine Gue who hosted it last year is presently living in BC and so we are looking for some experienced canners who can lead the way, and a group of people who would like to learn and go home with some of our spectacular vegetables to be enjoyed throughout the winter and spring in a some cute little jars, ready to eat, whenever you are : D
please let me know either or at elvirafalconer@gmail.com, and please respond if you are coming out to the harvest dinner, i have 18 confirmed so far, i would really like everyone who came and helped out at the farm to be there and celebrate with us : )
thank you,
